Peace Talks End Without Result as US–Iran Tensions Continue

“Those who are flying high in the skies should return soon —

there are serious issues on the ground that need discussion.”

Despite handshakes and embraces, hearts did not unite.

A 21-hour-long peace negotiation, described as a “peace talk,” has ended without any concrete outcome. Questions are now being raised about whether this was a genuine attempt at de-escalation or merely a face-saving exercise by Donald Trump amid increasing domestic pressure within the United States.

Observers note that expectations of a serious breakthrough were already low, given the political constraints surrounding Trump. These concerns appeared justified when reports confirmed that the negotiations concluded without agreement.

📍 April 10: A Significant Turning Point

April 10 emerged as a crucial date in the ongoing tensions involving Iran, United States, and Israel.

Delegations from both the United States and Iran arrived in Pakistan, which played a central role in facilitating negotiations. Analysts suggest that the United States, increasingly entangled in the conflict, is seeking an exit strategy and may be relying on Pakistan to open backdoor diplomatic channels.

🤝 Pakistan’s Diplomatic Position Under Scrutiny

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended congratulations to Iran’s new leadership and expressed condolences. However, questions have arisen regarding whether this move reflects Pakistan’s independent foreign policy or aligns with U.S. strategic interests.

Notably, Pakistan has refrained from directly condemning either the United States or Israel, even in the wake of serious developments. Diplomatic experts point out that backchannel communication is often used in such situations.

🧑‍💼 Composition of the U.S. Delegation

The American delegation included:

  • JD Vance
  • Jared Kushner
  • Steve Witkoff, Special Envoy to the Middle East

Among them, JD Vance is widely seen as representing anti-war sentiment within the United States, while Kushner and Witkoff are considered to hold pro-Israel positions.

Political analysts believe that Vance’s participation also carries domestic political significance, as a successful ceasefire could strengthen his position in future elections.

🇮🇷 Iran’s Delegation Sends a Strong Message

Iran was represented by:

  • Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf
  • Abbas Araghchi

In a symbolic gesture, the Iranian delegation highlighted the deaths of 168 children. Each seat on their aircraft reportedly carried a photograph of a child, along with a school bag and a flower. The flight was referred to as “Minab 168,” referencing the location associated with the incident.

The message from Iran was clear: it has neither forgotten its losses nor will it allow the world to ignore them.

📌 Iran’s Preconditions for Ceasefire

Before engaging in ceasefire discussions, Iran put forward two key demands:

1. A complete ceasefire in Lebanon

2. Immediate release of Iran’s frozen assets under international sanctions.

Estimates suggest that these frozen assets range between $100 billion and $120 billion. The release of these funds could significantly aid Iran in recovering from conflict-related losses.

🇺🇸 U.S. Response Reflects Pressure

In contrast to Iran’s firm stance, the U.S. position appeared uncertain. President Trump warned that failure of negotiations could lead to intensified military action.

In remarks to the media, he indicated that the outcome of talks would become clear within 24 hours. However, his statements also suggested recognition of Iran’s strategic capabilities, particularly regarding control over critical maritime routes.

⚠️ Reports of U.S.–Israel Differences

There have been indications of tension between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, particularly concerning the situation in Lebanon.

While the United States appears inclined toward reducing its involvement, Israel is reportedly less willing to disengage from the conflict.

🇵🇰 Internal Dynamics in Pakistan

Although Pakistan is a democratic state, observers noted that its military leadership appeared more prominent than civilian authorities during the negotiations.

This has raised concerns about the balance of power within the country, particularly in matters of foreign policy and security.

🌐 Public Reaction and Media Coverage

Mainstream Pakistani media provided significant coverage to the American delegation. However, on social media platforms, public support appeared to favor the Iranian delegation.

This divergence highlights a gap between official narratives and public sentimen.

🧠 Conclusion

The failed negotiations underscore the complexity of the ongoing conflict. The situation remains fluid, and the absence of a ceasefire indicates that tensions are far from resolved.

As Vice President JD Vance stated before departing Pakistan, Iran is expected to respond to the points raised during the discussions.

For now, the conflict continues, and further developments are anticipate

Sovereignty Under Hostage: Western Influence, Geopolitics, and India’s Strategic Autonomy

Abstract Sovereignty is one of the core principles of the modern international system and refers to the authority of a state to govern itself without external interference. However, in the contemporary era of globalization, economic interdependence, digital dominance, and geopolitical alliances, scholars increasingly debate whether powerful global actors can indirectly constrain the sovereignty of emerging nations. This research paper examines the concept of sovereignty and analyzes arguments that Western powers and global institutions may hold aspects of national decision‑making “hostage” through economic systems, military alliances, technological dominance, and diplomatic narratives. Using India as a case study, the paper explores historical foundations of sovereignty, mechanisms of influence in the global order, and contemporary examples such as the Iran–Israel–United States conflict and the global oil and gas crisis. The study also evaluates India’s strategy of strategic auton...

A Legal Analysis of Husband Murder by Wives in Contemporary India (2022-2025)

Abstract This study examines the underreported phenomenon of Indian wives murdering their husbands (2022-2025), where media reports suggest 270-300 annual cases (one every 32 hours). Analyzing 15 high-profile cases, we find poisoning (40%), strangulation (25%), and contract killings (15%) dominate, with 80% involving extramarital collusion. Systemic gaps – gender-biased laws, absent NCRB data categorization, and investigative biases – enable this hidden crisis. We argue for gender-neutral domestic violence laws, improved crime data systems, and specialized forensic protocols to address this alarming manifestation of marital breakdown in modern India. Keywords: spousal homicide, gender-neutral laws, intimate partner violence, crime data, India Introduction: The Silent Epidemic in Legal Shadows Marriage in India, traditionally revered as a sacred and indissoluble union, is undergoing a profound transformation as modern socio-economic pressures and evolving gender dynamics reshape ...
